Taiwanese chipmaker Himax (Himax Technologies) announced, Google's acquisition of Himax screen technology sector Himax (Himax Display) 6.3% of the shares. Himax to provide chips for the Google Glass completed the acquisition will promote the development of Google Glass.

Himax is a famous screen driver and supplier of semiconductor products, the screen's Himax Technologies, Inc., Himax's stake to 81.5%, Google's investment will help expand Himax LCoS chips and modules , mainly for wearable devices headset image projection equipment and small size of the screen production.
The two companies did not disclose the amount of investment, the transaction will be completed within the third quarter of 2013.
